Market Environment
Wall Street opens the week in the green, supported by expectations around Nvidia (NVDA) earnings on Wednesday night, and reports from Home Depot (Tuesday) and Walmart (Thursday).
The markets are also digesting the end of the government shutdown, which had delayed the release of several key statistics. Among the key data expected this week: the Empire State index (expected at 5.8), August construction spending (-0.2% expected), and especially the September jobs report (Thursday), which Deutsche Bank expects to show a strong improvement, with +75k jobs created versus +22k previously.
Speeches from John Williams (NY Fed) and Neel Kashkari (Minneapolis Fed) are scheduled, but UBS believes these will have little impact on investors.
