Trump Vows to Make the US a ‘Bitcoin Superpower’ in Bold Crypto Pledge
By Ouinex
Donald Trump has made a dramatic return to the crypto spotlight, promising to make the United States the “undisputed Bitcoin superpower” in a sweeping digital assets address that’s already stirred global debate.
Speaking via pre-recorded video to a packed audience at the Blockworks Digital Assets Summit in New York, the former president laid out an aggressive roadmap to overturn years of regulatory friction and reassert American dominance in the blockchain revolution.
Among his bolder proposals, Trump floated the creation of a strategic Bitcoin reserve, dubbing it a “digital Fort Knox,” and vowed to end what he described as the “debanking” of cryptocurrency entrepreneurs.
“This is a revolution that should be led by America—not stifled by bureaucracy,” he declared, calling on Congress to draft legislation to regulate stablecoins and offer clarity for digital asset markets.
The remarks mark a significant pivot from past US policy, which many in the crypto sector have criticised as hostile or uncertain under previous administrations. While Trump’s earlier relationship with crypto was frosty—once describing Bitcoin as a “scam”—his recent rhetoric suggests a political embrace of digital innovation ahead of the 2024 election.
Industry figures have welcomed the shift, with some seeing it as a signal that crypto could become a major policy issue in the US political landscape.
Still, critics argue that grandstanding may not equate to concrete reform. “We’ve heard promises before,” said one Washington analyst. “The real test is whether any of this survives Congress.”
